Dr Muyiwa Olumoroti

 

BIO

Dr Muyiwa Olumoroti is a consultant psychiatrist and trainer of many years’ experience, with over 25 years as a medical doctor and over 10 years as a consultant in the UK National Health Service. He has worked in general adult psychiatry services and at all levels of security in secure forensic psychiatric care and was formerly consultant to a busy community forensic team in south London. He has vast experience teaching medical students, specialty trainees in psychiatry, and training of consultant psychiatrists. He regularly works with multiple stakeholders and agencies in the community to manage patients presenting with different needs and challenges. He bagged a Senior Fellowship in Healthcare Leadership from the prestigious NHS Leadership Academy, UK and his work on breaking barriers to discharges from secure services was submitted for a thesis towards the award of MSc. In Healthcare Leadership from the University of Birmingham, UK in 2017.  He currently works as consultant on a low secure forensic ward and holds senior management positions in healthcare organisations and the boards of two UK charities. Dr Olumoroti has written books on patients’ management in psychiatry, empowerment and personal leadership. He has also co-authored articles and research work in local and international journals.
